FREE download – We Are To Answer

Dear fellow Beatheadz,

in our archives we re-discovered an older song that was meant to be the title track of our debut album “We Are To Answer” on ESL Music. But as much as we loved this tune we had too many to choose from so at the end this song didn´t make the final track list. A lot has happened between then and now and somehow the song “We Are To Answer” got lost in the depth of Kabanjak´s Evergreen Studio. As the years went by this song was sleeping hidden between different sound ideas and songs. But some weeks ago we found it again and were stoked to hear what we forgot about over the past years. “We Are To Answer” has that unique feeling of our debut album. It is a timeless piece where a beautiful melody unites with a dope beat and a warm bass. That´s why it was obvious to share this with you, our followers and supporters. Place yourself comfortably, turn your sound system up loud and enjoy this piece of music. And yes, it is totally FREE. So feel free to share this  with your family, friends, colleagues and sound enthusiasts:

Prison Business?

As funny as John Oliver describes the situation as serious it is. How can any sane person, or even a government, make national prisons an open and publicly traded business? Add this to your list of reasons for more police controls? Decide by yourself:

DANZI DANZI

DOGU  and his FAMILY AFFAIRS COLOGNE crew are working hard on building up a community for Afrobeat and Rockers Reggae in Cologne. Since 3 years they run this FAMILY AFFAIRS COLOGNE – Afro Urban Club Sessions and now it looks as if they found their real home. The Barinton Live Music Club in Cologne became the perfect spot for them to combine their clubnight that features DOGU on the decks, RUJA KISS on live visuals and live percussions to the dj set. But the Barinton is a real live space so they added live concerts by the FAMILY AFFAIRS COLOGNE Ensemble, which is lead by Marius D. Bielefeld and especially put together for the FAMILY AFFAIRS COLOGNE nights.

And it seems as this was the best idea to have cause the combination of deejaying, live concert and live visuals now regularly blows off the roof at the Barinton. Here is a short fan video from the last event:

No More War

Good day to all positive souls out there

we are living in troubled times. There haven´t been as many wars as in these days. Since World War II there haven´t been more wars on this planet. The only difference is that it´s not one country against another but internal conflicts with their root in religion, greed, race or whatever creates hate these days. War zones are everywhere. Maybe directly next to us but you can feel it. Ukraine is just one new location but because of the not too far distance to Europe it feels as if war is coming closer and closer. The people out in the streets don´t understand why cause they just want to live a safe and fair life. Most of us are born and raised in peace and we should never forget that feeling. Peace is one of the most precious things in life. That is why we have to raise our voices to keep it maintained and spread the awareness that war is never a solution. Peace is not a memory, it´s the biggest freedom one can get!

ONE LOVE

Love What Ya Got

Hello friends & family,

we hope you are fine wherever you are. The weekend has nearly come and what better than music to start it with?

Dr. Best from German radiostation Radio Z in Nuernberg asked Dogu to do an exclusive DJ Mix for his show “Limbo Rhythm” in late 2013. His show is an eclectic mixture of quality conscious music from Downtempo to Hip Hop to Funk to Reggae and more styles. That said it is perfect to fit an Ancient Astros style mix to the show. The mix was aired in early january and we uploaded the mix to our Soundcloud page for all you guys out there who were not able to listen to the radioshow:

HAPPY WEEKEND !!!

How is everybody today?

We would like to share this video of an older tune from us remixed by DJ Ole, a great DJ and producer  from Berlin. The tune is some years old now but the videos were done by Uli Sigg during his and Dogu´s performance at the GamesCom computer fair in summer 2013 in Cologne. Very nice, right? We hope you enjoy it too.

Stay safe and warm this month and talk to you soon!
